The use of divination varies between magical and spiritual beliefs. And though in Theistic Satanism there is really no set guildelines in what to use or how to use certain items no matter what is used the following should be done...

 

1. When getting the items cleanse and protect them, there is many ways to do this, though my favorite and effective method is to have it sit out in the sun for cleansing and then keep it out on the night of a full moon to charge it.It is also very useful to do this at least once a month or when it is needed. Doing so will bring the items' engery up which will be more effective to use for spells & divination.

 

2. Using Tarot/oracle cards, one should keep them in a black or dark blue cloth/bag and sleep with them under your pillow for at least a week. Each day or as much as possible, use them. This is true with your pendulum and possibly other objects such as gems, crystals, stones, runes, ect.

 

3.You need to get your energy as much on your items as you can. Making sure that it is only you that touch them, if someone wishes to have a reading done and if they touch them if they're energy is bad or if they are sick it will effect the reading and you'll have to do a cleansing on them again. If one has to touch them, make sure the person is careful, using gloves and such. DO NOT LET ANYONE ELSE TOUCH THEM!!

 

4. Some people, like those who pratice Vodou/Voodoo, Hoodoo and Santeria like to do a divination before they do a spell to see what the outcome could possibly be. Something to keep in mind if you have any doubts on working a spell. If you do then maybe you shouldn't do it but divination couldnt hurt. Lord Satan, The spirits, gods and goddesses are there to help you.

 

5.It may be best to let another witch, sorceror ect do a reading for you, especially if you are having a peronal issue. Being too involved with a reading could affect it the way you dont want.

 

6.Before a reading, ask whomever you are using if they want a gift, this brings more effective outcomes. Also before a reading, a cleansing and protection spell may prove useful in keeping out unwanted energies, spirits and other dieties you dont want around during the divination.

 

7.Also, and this is especially with the pendulum, make sure you are truly talking to whom you are talking to. For example, often times when the High Priestess talks through Lilith's pendulum and discovers its her sister Diana, she rebukes her and tell her to shove off and puts the pendulum down. Diana does NOT work well with father Satan or anyone else and likes to cause trouble with men and take things over. A secret quetion that only the perticular diety knows the answer to may prove effective to make sure that its the person you want to talk to.

 

8.Remember sometimes asking questions a certain wya may give you a result that may prove false later. This may be becuase their was a miscommunication, remeber the gods, and sprits work on different planes than we do. Be kind, be respecful and above all, be patient. Never ask any frivilous stuff.

 

9. Get to know the spirit/ god/goddess behind your method of divination. Yoiu never know who is talking to you. This was how the High Priestess discovered she had others talk to her along with Lord Satan!

 

10.Always be respectful, not doing so could prove to have a negative outcome. Always say thank you for their guidance.
